Tomorrow’s Speaker: Doug Terreson

We are pleased to welcome Doug Terreson back to the Point Clear Rotary Club for a timely presentation, “Energy, Economics & Geopolitics: How Today’s Conflicts Are Reshaping the Global Economy.”

Doug will examine how geopolitical conflict, global oil supply, the Strait of Hormuz, refinery disruptions, and changing energy markets influence inflation, interest rates, economic growth, and national security. His presentation will help connect developments around the world with the energy prices and economic conditions experienced here at home.

Doug brings decades of experience in global energy research and investment strategy. He formerly served as Head of Energy Research at Evercore ISI and Morgan Stanley, where he covered the Integrated Oil, Exploration and Production, and Refining and Marketing sectors. He was also responsible for global forecasts involving crude oil, refined products, and energy portfolio strategy.

Throughout his distinguished career, Doug ranked as the No. 1 or No. 2 Integrated Oil analyst in the Institutional Investor poll for 20 years and was named to the All-America Research team 24 times. He also served as lead analyst on major energy IPOs and participated in some of the industry’s most consequential mergers.

Before entering energy research, Doug managed Putnam’s energy mutual fund and began his career as an engineer with Schlumberger along the U.S. Gulf Coast. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Mississippi State University, an MBA from Rollins College, and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Doug currently serves as a director for Phillips 66 and Third Gear Energy Fund and on boards supporting Mississippi State University. Please join us as we welcome him back for an insightful discussion about why energy security remains essential to economic strength and geopolitical stability.

Mark your calendars for Monday, November 9, as the United States Sports University Eagles Golf Classic returns to the beautiful Steelwood Country Club. This annual tournament brings together alumni, friends, community partners, and supporters for a day of golf with a purpose.

Every swing helps make a difference. Proceeds from the tournament directly support student scholarships, providing financial assistance to deserving students while advancing USSU’s mission of preparing the next generation of leaders in sport through innovative education, research, and service.
