Tomorrow’s Speaker: Colonel Steve Carey, Owner & Operator of CertaPro Painters

Hosted by, Georgianna Catrino

We look forward to welcoming Colonel Steve Carey as our speaker for tomorrow’s meeting.

Colonel Carey brings a unique and compelling perspective shaped by a distinguished career in the United States Air Force and continued success in the private sector. He retired as the Commandant of the College of Aerospace Doctrine, Research and Education (CADRE) and Vice Commander of the Air Force Doctrine Center at Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Throughout his military career, Colonel Carey developed and refined the core characteristics required to lead complex, high-performing organizations—leadership, professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems in dynamic environments. These are not just theoretical principles; they are lived experiences that shaped his leadership philosophy.

Today, he applies those same principles in his “second life” with CertaPro Painters, where he has built a business grounded in operational excellence and customer care. His approach to leadership in the trades stands out in an industry where consistency and service can vary widely.

What sets Colonel Carey apart is his ability to translate military leadership into business success. His focus on conflict resolution, team culture, and execution has led to measurable outcomes, including an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, national recognition for customer satisfaction, and a team that genuinely enjoys the work they do.

Tomorrow’s presentation will offer valuable insight into:

  • Transitioning leadership skills across industries
  • Building and sustaining high-performing teams
  • Creating a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Delivering a customer experience that differentiates your organization

This is a strong opportunity to gain perspective from a leader who has successfully navigated both military and civilian leadership at a high level.

Our liberties were not won without suffering, and may be lost again through our cowardice.
