Today was a vibrant day for community engagement and positive impact as members of our Rotary Club came together in support of the Hope Community 5K – Our Roots Run Deep, held at the historic Anna T. Jeanes School site in Fairhope. As proud sponsors of this event, we were honored to stand alongside Hope Community, a local nonprofit dedicated to nurturing unity and fostering relationships through food, healing, and education.
Hope Community’s mission reflects the core values that Rotary champions every day – strengthening connections, empowering individuals, and building inclusive spaces where all members of our community can thrive. Their work spans innovative initiatives including educational programs, community gardens, FoodRx classes, and efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of Fairhope South.
This morning’s 5K race brought together neighbors, volunteers, sponsors, and families to celebrate health, unity, and service. It offered a meaningful opportunity to elevate community wellness and solidarity while raising support for Hope Community’s long-term vision of creating sustainable resources and opportunities for all. We were especially proud to see several of our own Rotary members not just supporting from the sidelines, but actively participating in the run — embodying the “service above self” spirit that defines Rotary.
As our members crossed the finish line, they carried more than just the accomplishment of completing a race — they carried forward a message of collaboration and commitment. Through shared efforts like this, we strengthen the bonds that make our community resilient, compassionate, and forward-thinking.
We extend our gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and every participant who helped make today’s event a success. Rotary remains dedicated to fostering impactful partnerships, engaging in meaningful service, and advancing initiatives that uplift our region. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Hope Community and supporting programs that cultivate connection, opportunity, and wellbeing throughout Baldwin County.
Here’s to community, service, and collective impact — today and every day.
