🎤 Tomorrow’s Speaker:

Commissioner Chris Blankenship

hosted by, Barry Trice

Tomorrow’s Speaker: Commissioner Chris Blankenship

We are honored to welcome Chris Blankenship, Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Commissioner Blankenship brings more than three decades of leadership experience across conservation enforcement, coastal restoration, and statewide environmental stewardship.

A native of Dauphin Island, he began his career as a Conservation Enforcement Officer in the Marine Resources Division in 1994 and has since risen through the ranks to serve as Alabama’s top conservation official. His portfolio includes chairing the Forever Wild Land Trust Board, leading the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program Executive Committee, and stewarding major coastal restoration initiatives following the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. His work supports long-term environmental resilience, responsible resource management, and the economic vitality of Alabama’s coastal communities.

We look forward to an insightful discussion anchored in the future of conservation across our state.

🌍 Newsletter Fun Fact

Rotary Youth Exchange: Changing Lives Across Borders

Rotary’s Youth Exchange Program sends thousands of students abroad each year, creating transformational experiences that build cultural understanding, leadership capacity, and global citizenship. Through long-term and short-term exchanges, students immerse themselves in new communities, develop language fluency, and serve as ambassadors for peace and goodwill.
This program remains one of Rotary’s most impactful pathways for shaping future leaders—reinforcing our commitment to fostering international cooperation and lifelong service.

People are quick to demand their own rights be protected, but too often remain silent when others are deprived of the same.
