Each year on November 11 our nation pauses with intention and gratitude to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a powerful reminder of the courage, commitment, and resilience demonstrated by those who wore the uniform in defense of freedom.
At the Point Clear Rotary Club, service is at the heart of everything we do. Today we reflect on the extraordinary sacrifices made by veterans and their families, individuals who exemplify the very essence of “Service Above Self.” Their dedication not only protects our nation but also strengthens the communities we call home.
A Day to Reflect and Recommit
Veterans Day invites all of us to do more than simply say “thank you.” It challenges us to carry forward the values our veterans embody: leadership, integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to the greater good. These are the same values that guide Rotary’s mission worldwide.
As we honor those who served across every branch, every era, and every duty station, we also recognize the many veterans within our own Rotary family. Their continued contributions as community leaders reflect a lifetime of service that extends well beyond their military careers.
Supporting Those Who Served
Honoring veterans means ensuring they are supported in meaningful ways long after their service ends. Whether through community outreach, mentorship, mental health resources, career pathways, or acts of everyday kindness, each of us can play a strategic role in building a more inclusive and supportive environment for our veterans.
Our club remains committed to identifying opportunities where we can create measurable impact, elevate veteran voices, and collaborate with local partners to address evolving needs. This commitment aligns with Rotary’s global priorities and reinforces our responsibility to build bridges of stability, unity, and support.
A Message of Gratitude
To every veteran, thank you. Thank you for your bravery, your dedication, and the sacrifices you and your families have made on behalf of our nation. Your service inspires us to lead with purpose and to elevate our community through meaningful action.
Today and every day, we honor you.
