🎤 Tomorrow’s Speaker:

Dr. Michael Capella, Dean of the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama

hosted by, The Club

Tomorrow, we welcome Dr. Michael Capella, Dean of the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama.

Dr. Capella brings over two decades of leadership in higher education and business, having previously served as Dean of the College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans and Associate Dean for Graduate & Executive Programs at Villanova University. Before entering academia, he spent ten years in professional sales management, an experience that continues to shape his perspective on leadership, ethics, and innovation in business education.

At South Alabama, Dr. Capella is dedicated to advancing the Mitchell College of Business through partnerships with industry leaders and a commitment to developing ethical business professionals for a global economy. His insights promise to inspire and challenge us as we continue our own service and leadership journeys in Rotary.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Cristian Zaharia, Olympian, world-class coach, and Assistant Professor at the United States Sports University, as a special guest at tomorrow’s meeting!

Special Guest Visiting the Club Tomorrow: Dr. Cristian Zaharia, OLY

Dr. Zaharia is a 1992 Olympian and former world No. 1 handball player, whose career has spanned elite competition, international coaching, and sports education. He’s earned championships across Europe, coached the USA Men’s National Team to a Bronze Medal at the 2003 Pan American Games, and was twice honored by the U.S. Olympic Committee as Coach of the Year.

Beyond the court, Dr. Zaharia has produced major international sporting events, served as a commentator for BeIN Sports, and now teaches full-time at USSU, where he blends global sport experience with business strategy and leadership.

Please join us in giving Dr. Zaharia a warm Point Clear Rotary welcome — his story is a fascinating reminder of the power of sport to connect cultures and inspire excellence!

🍷TASTE OF ROTARY🍽️

A Night to Remember

What a night! Our 2025 Taste of Rotary at The Wash House was a wonderful success — filled with great food, music, and fellowship under the lights. Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and supported this year’s event.

From our sponsors and silent auction contributors to the hardworking volunteers who made the evening run smoothly, your generosity truly embodies the Rotary spirit of Service Above Self.

Funds raised will go directly toward the community projects and scholarships supported by the Point Clear Rotary Club, helping us continue to make a meaningful impact here on the Eastern Shore and beyond.

We’re especially grateful to The Wash House for hosting us again this year, and to all who brought friends and family to experience what Rotary is all about — good people, good causes, and a good time!

Until next year, thank you for helping make Taste of Rotary 2025 one to remember!

🌍 Newsletter Fun Fact Version

Did You Know?
There are Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and territories around the world!
That means no matter where you travel, you’re never far from a community of service-minded friends. Each club shares the same mission — to create lasting change locally and globally — while reflecting the unique culture of its home community. Whether it’s building wells in Africa, mentoring youth in Europe, or hosting fundraisers right here on the Eastern Shore, Rotarians everywhere are united by one purpose: Service Above Self.

Most of the successful people I’ve known are the ones doing more listening than talking.
