It is with deep respect and gratitude that we remember the life of Walter Lewellyn “Walt” Poser, who passed away on October 7, 2025. Born in Foley, Alabama, and raised in Fairhope, Walt lived a life defined by service, community, and dedication.

A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Walt built a successful career in business and finance, while also serving in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1959 to 1963. Throughout his life, Walt exemplified the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self.”

While living in California, Walt was an active member of the Sierra Madre Rotary Club, where he served in leadership roles, including as Club Secretary. Upon returning home to Fairhope with his beloved wife Nancy, he continued to embody the values of fellowship and service that define Rotary.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Nancy and the entire Poser family. Walt’s legacy of leadership, generosity, and commitment to community will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to serve alongside him.
