📲 While I’m Away… Please, Please Check In Online!
Friends, I’m out of town this week celebrating my wedding (🥂), which means I can’t cheerfully nudge you in person to check in. So, I’m begging you from afar—please complete your online check-in before the meeting!
It only takes a few clicks, it helps everything run smoothly, and it gives me peace of mind knowing you’ve got it handled while I’m away. Think of it as my wedding gift from you: a stress-free attendance report. 💍

🍷 Taste of Rotary: October 26 at The Wash House
The countdown is on for our biggest (and tastiest) fundraiser of the year! To make it a success, we need your help with two key things:
🎯 Goal #1: Sponsors
- Fund scholarships, youth programs & service projects
- Great exposure for businesses (and good karma, too!)
- Know someone who might be interested? Send them our way!
🎟️ Goal #2: Raffle Tickets
- Available now — easy to buy, easier to sell
- Proceeds go straight into the work we do year-round
- Grab a stack, share with friends, and help spread the word
✨ The more sponsors and raffle tickets we secure, the bigger the impact we can make. Let’s fill that sponsor board and keep the momentum rolling!
Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities, and more details soon.
🔍 Rotary Fun Fact of the Week:
The name “Rotary” wasn’t chosen at random — it comes directly from the club’s earliest tradition of rotating meeting locations among members’ offices.
When Rotary began in Chicago in 1905, Paul Harris and his three friends wanted to build fellowship by moving their weekly meetings from one office to another. This “rotation” not only gave the club its name, but also reflected its original spirit: creating connections across different professions, businesses, and neighborhoods.
Each week brought members into a new setting — from a tailor’s shop to a coal dealer’s office — and with every rotation, members learned more about one another’s work, families, and daily lives. This tradition helped break down barriers, built trust, and fostered the kind of friendships that became the cornerstone of Rotary.
Although Rotary clubs eventually settled into more permanent meeting places as membership grew, the name stuck. More than a century later, the word “Rotary” still reflects the movement’s original purpose: bringing people together from different walks of life, rotating perspectives, and strengthening communities through connection and service.
No matter what accomplishments you make, somebody helped you.
