Supporting Veterans: Pastor Austin’s Role in Mental Health and Outreach

The Point Clear Rotary Club extends a heartfelt thank you to Lloyd Michael Austin for joining us as this week’s speaker.

A native of Mobile and graduate of Williamson High School, Pastor Austin proudly served 14 years in the U.S. Army, including combat service during Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After returning home, he continued his life of service—this time through ministry and community outreach. He is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Love Me Anyway Ministries, owner of LMA Construction, and today serves as the Community Outreach Ambassador and Senior Peer Support Specialist at Vets Recover, an organization committed to helping veterans overcome substance use and mental health challenges.

Pastor Austin’s leadership reaches far beyond his professional role. He is a National Mental Health First Aid Instructor, chaplain for the South Alabama Veterans Council and Veterans Court, and Spiritual Director for Kairos Prison Ministries. His impact can also be felt through his work with the Optimist Boys & Girls Club, Agape Life Gardens, Project Inspire, and the National Men’s Prayer Call.

In recognition of his contributions, he was honored as Veteran of the Month in February 2024. His commitment to veterans, youth, and faith communities demonstrates the power of “service above self.”

On behalf of our club, we thank Pastor Austin for sharing his powerful testimony and for his tireless work supporting those who have served our country. His message reminded us that healing, resilience, and hope are possible when communities come together.
