This week, the Point Clear Rotary Club was proud to welcome Michael Lynch, Co-Founder and CEO of Chonex, as our featured speaker.

Michael brings over 20 years of experience in building and scaling rural organizations and startups. He has a unique background that blends community-based leadership with environmental innovation. Before launching Chonex, he led Teach For America in Alabama and helped develop impactful tutoring programs with Auburn University—efforts that have improved educational outcomes in underserved communities.

Now, as CEO of Chonex, Michael is at the forefront of agricultural innovation. Chonex is a biotechnology company that transforms poultry waste into powerful organic fertilizers and soil enhancers, using cutting-edge upcycling technologies. The company’s mission is rooted in sustainability, helping farmers regenerate soil health, increase yields, and reduce environmental harm.

Michael spoke to the club about the urgent need for sustainable agriculture, the science behind Chonex’s innovative process, and how this work is creating a ripple effect in communities across Alabama and beyond. His passion for bridging rural opportunity gaps with entrepreneurial solutions was inspiring and thought-provoking.

Thank you, Michael, for sharing your journey and your vision for a greener, more resilient future!
