This week, the Point Clear Rotary Club had the pleasure of hearing from Ormand Thompson, Executive Vice President of Baldwin County Operations and President of Thomas Hospital, part of the Infirmary Health system.
Mr. Thompson has been a dedicated member of the Infirmary Health team since 1991, serving in a variety of leadership roles across hospital operations and physician practice management. His deep knowledge of the healthcare landscape—especially here in Baldwin County—provided our club with a meaningful look at both the opportunities and challenges facing our region’s health systems.
During his talk, Mr. Thompson discussed the ongoing evolution of Thomas Hospital, sharing updates on recent improvements and future plans aimed at meeting the growing healthcare needs of our rapidly expanding community. From staffing challenges and facility upgrades to community partnerships and patient-centered care models, Mr. Thompson painted a clear picture of a hospital system committed to innovation and service.
In addition to his leadership within Infirmary Health, Mr. Thompson is a familiar face in our local civic community. He currently serves on the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce board and the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance. He is also a proud graduate of Leadership Mobile, Class of 2006, further highlighting his long-standing dedication to local engagement and regional progress.
We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Thompson for taking the time to speak with our club and for the vital role he plays in shaping healthcare on the Eastern Shore. His commitment to both clinical excellence and community well-being embodies the very values we uphold in Rotary.
Thank you again, Mr. Thompson, for your leadership, your insight, and your service to Baldwin County.
