📲 Online Check-In Is Here — So Easy, Even Louis Braswell Can Do It

Louis is the one on the right.

Tired of the line at the iPad and that awkward wait while someone pokes at the screen like it’s a mystery artifact? You can now check in online before you even walk through the doors.
Just click the link in this email or on the website — it’s fast, painless, and yes, Louis approved.

🚨 Honorary members, don’t forget: Breakfast is still $20. We accept cash, checks, or crisp high-fives (followed by $20, of course).

🎤 Tomorrow’s Speaker: Lee Lawson President & CEO of the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance

Building Baldwin: Big Plays from Lee Lawson

This week we’re thrilled to welcome Lee Lawson, President & CEO of the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance. Lee has been leading the charge in making Baldwin County one of the fastest-growing regions in the U.S.

A former Troy basketball player turned economic development rockstar, he brings big ideas, smart strategies, and maybe a few tall tales.

🎓 Scholarship Spotlight: Rylee-Ann Roberts Returns

We’re excited to welcome back our 2024 Special Scholarship Award winner, Rylee-Ann Roberts, at this week’s meeting.

A proud graduate of Bayside Academy, Rylee-Ann is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Tulane University. She’ll be joining us to express her gratitude to the club and to share an update on her academic journey and future aspirations.

It’s always rewarding to see the impact of Rotary in action — and Rylee-Ann is a shining example of that. Steve Longfield will serve as host for her visit.

Let’s give her a warm Rotary welcome!

🔍 Rotary Fun Fact of the Week:

Rotary’s original motto was “He profits most who serves best.” But did you know it almost ended up as “Don’t be shady, just be Rotarian-y”? Okay, maybe not — but the sentiment stands!
From one small club in 1905 to over 1.4 million members worldwide today, Rotary proves that service and community still go a long way (especially when pancakes are involved).

🥞 Save the Date: Pancake Breakfast at the Rotary Youth Club

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 8:00–10:30 AM at the Rotary Youth Club (19128 Young Street, Fairhope)!

Join us for a flapjack-filled morning that supports a fantastic cause—proceeds go directly to the Club’s Afterschool Tutoring Program, helping local students thrive in and out of the classroom.

Bring your appetite, your friends, and your stretchy pants. Pancakes taste even better when they help power brighter futures!

🎬 AV Help Needed – Don’t Make August Another Ghost Town!

July came and went… and guess what? Not a single soul signed up to help with AV. We know you’re out there with opposable thumbs and a basic grasp of “put plug here.”

All we need is someone to help put away equipment after Thursday meetings. It’s a one-month gig, not a lifelong vow—and yes, it’s way easier than deciphering IKEA instructions.

Be the hero we know you are. Sign-up sheet’s at the desk (it’s even on paper not the iPad!).

Tony handed out Taste of Rotary tickets last week — if yours is still MIA, track him down like a game of Where’s Waldo.

🍷 Taste of Rotary: Sponsors Wanted — We Accept Cash, Checks, and Flattery!

We’re heating things up for this year’s Taste of Rotary on Sunday, October 26 at The Wash House, and right now, we’re on the hunt for… SPONSORS!

Why sponsors? Because scholarships, service projects, and youth programs don’t pay for themselves — and neither does the wine! 🍷✨

We’re calling on all members to channel your inner fundraiser:

  • Know a local business that loves good publicity?
  • Have a friend who owes you a favor?
  • Own a company and want your logo on everything but the dessert?

Send them our way! Big or small, every sponsorship helps us make an impact (and makes you look like a hero).

Stay tuned for more ways to help — auction items, behind-the-scenes magic, and event day hands-on fun — but for now, let’s focus on filling up that sponsor list like it’s happy hour! 🍾🥂

Let’s make this year’s Taste of Rotary the most delicious, most meaningful, and most well-sponsored event yet! Cheers to that!

Failure seldon stops you.  What stops you is fear of failure.
