U.S. District Judge Jeff Beaverstock
Hosted by, Mark Kirkpatrick
The Point Clear Rotary Club had the distinct honor of hosting the Honorable Jeffrey U. Beaverstock at this week’s meeting. As a United States District Judge for the Southern District of Alabama, Judge Beaverstock brought a wealth of insight and experience to the club, speaking on the importance of public service, principled leadership, and the evolving role of the judiciary in today’s society.
Judge Beaverstock’s impressive career spans both military and legal service. Prior to his appointment to the federal bench, he was a partner at Burr & Forman LLP in Mobile, where he focused on civil and commercial litigation across state and federal courts. His path to the bench was grounded not only in legal expertise, but also in decades of service to his country.
A graduate of The Citadel, Judge Beaverstock was a Distinguished Military Graduate and began his career as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. He continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve until his retirement after 28 years of commissioned service—an unwavering commitment that reflects his deep-rooted dedication to leadership and country.
Judge Beaverstock went on to earn his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Alabama Law Review. His academic and professional accomplishments, paired with his military background, have uniquely positioned him to uphold justice with integrity and balance.
Club members appreciated the opportunity to hear firsthand about his experiences, challenges, and the values that continue to guide his work on and off the bench. His visit served as a powerful reminder of the impact that a life of service—whether in the courtroom, in uniform, or in the community—can have on the greater good.
