Kelly Hodges
Director of the South Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross
Hosted by, The Club
The Point Clear Rotary Club had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Kelly Hodges, Director of the South Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross, as this week’s featured speaker.
With a deep understanding of both the challenges and critical needs facing our region, Kelly offered an enlightening overview of the American Red Cross’s mission and the powerful role the South Alabama Chapter plays in disaster response, preparedness education, and humanitarian support. Her presentation highlighted the organization’s swift action in times of crisis—such as house fires, hurricanes, and other local emergencies—as well as their proactive approach to equipping individuals and families with life-saving tools before disaster strikes.
Kelly emphasized the importance of community partnerships and volunteer engagement, noting that the Red Cross is not a government agency—it is powered by volunteers, donors, and a commitment to serving others. From coordinating blood drives to supporting military families and veterans, their reach is both broad and deeply personal.
Her message was not only informative, but also a call to action. Whether through volunteerism, blood donation, or financial support, each of us can play a role in strengthening our community’s resilience.
We extend our sincere thanks to Kelly for her time and for the unwavering dedication she and her team bring to our region. Her work exemplifies the very spirit of Service Above Self.
