Insights from Jeff Cogen: Sports Executive Career Highlights

Rotarian Scott Fenn hosts this week’s speaker, Jeff Cogen, a former American sports executive and past president of the NHL Nashville Predators, the NHL Stars, Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers and others. He was the chief executive officer of the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League before taking a position with the Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball. From 2001 until 2004, Cogen served as the Florida Panthers’ chief operating officer. He then spent three years as president of the Texas Rangers before joining the Dallas Stars as their president. In 2010, Cogen left the Stars to serve as CEO for the Nashville Predators. In 2015, he left the Predators t o take up a position with the Tampa Bay Rays. Cogen is a new resident of Fairhope, relocating from St. Petersburg, Fl. He will be speaking on his career and insights on managing a major league sports franchise.
